Adoption of Julian & Jasmine
On July 17th, Don & Kathleen Sullivan, from Lynchburg, Virginia, got a favorable ruling from the High Court of Uganda to adopt two of our teenagers. Julian & Jasmine, 15 years old twins, have been patiently waiting for the long process to come to an end so that they may be reunited with their Dad & Mom and 5 other siblings. We praise the Lord for another victory in giving not just a loving home to our children but a home where they will be nurtured and raised in the fear of our Lord. Please continue to pray for more children to be adopted and also for the doors to stay open to allow International Adoption here in Uganda. Lately we have experienced problems as this process is so new in Uganda and it seems that there is not a clear one established.
Gloria
In April we welcomed a new child to the orphanage. Gloria is approximately 4 years old. Gloria comes from Northern Uganda where she was being cared by her elderly grandmother after her father died from Aids and her mother abandoned her. Gloria is a special girl! After her mother having measles while pregnant, Gloria was born with several birth defects.
She is unable to walk and can’t use one of her hands due to the birth defects. She is also microcefalic & deaf. We are praying that in time Gloria will be able to take her first steps. She is wearing special braces to help her straighten her legs but she may need surgery at a later time. Please join us in praying for her. We are blessed to have Gloria here at GSF and honored to show her the Father’s love for her as we care and nurture her. Pray as well that the Lord will raise a Special Ed Teacher with a heart for children like Gloria to come and work with us here at GSF.
Update on Phillip (Battle with AIDS)
Phillip’s CD-4 count has dropped once again to a 15% level. We know his life is held by the loving hands of His Father who has determined Phillip’s days here on earth. Please continue to uphold him in your prayers. Thank you on his behalf for the cards sent to him. Usually he walks around our compound with one of them in his hands.
Our kids have been enjoying the new playground that a team from Grace Community Church from NC recently came and built for them. It was hard to keep the kids out of it even when they were starting the construction of it so much more now that has been completed.
GSF has a new vehicle “a busâ€! Another answer to prayer and a blessing! Our older children could be transported now in a safer vehicle instead of driving in the back of a truck to school. We will be able to use it as well to do outings with the children and for our visiting teams. We thank St. Andrews of Ireland for their generosity
